Mike Ellicott

Mike Ellicott served as Texas Tech’s Vice Chancellor for Facilities Planning and Construction, managing all major construction and renovation projects on Tech’s six campuses in West Texas from December 1999 until September 2009. During that time he completed 85 projects valued at over $711.0 million. Prior to Texas Tech, he served in similar positions at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and Harvard University.
He served twenty-six years as a military officer in the Army Corps of Engineers in Germany, Korea, and the United States. He commanded the Corps’ Europe District in Frankfurt, Germany and the 54th Engineer Battalion in WIldflecken, Germany and served as the Director of Engineering and Housing for the Frankfurt Germany Military Community. He holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia. He has taught engineering at both the Military Academy at West Point and at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA.
